MCIT- Issues WIMAX License To Internet Services Provider Companies

There is no doubt that Information and Communications Technology play fundamental role in current conditions for growth and Development in all sectors of human life.
Fortunately, today, in our country, telecommunications and information technologies can be applied in economic, health, Education, and management and administration sectors.

To sign the agreement a media conference was held on Sunday, November18, 2012, at Ministry of Communications & IT with The Participation of H.E. Eng. Amirzai Sangin Minster and leadership of MCIT, deputy Ministers finance , Justice and Commerce  along with high level government officials, Telecom and representatives of media.  

Speaking about the importance of telecommunication and IT, specially the role of WIMAX, which provides internet services and Facilities to government administrations, privet organizations, Educational institutes , H.E. Amirzai Sangin said We are pleased Taking another step toward  the progress and happiness of the people,  we have issued the first, second and third 3G license To Etisalat, MTN and Roshan Companies so far in value of 75$ million, to provide the better and high speed internet services to Our people we are issuing the WIMAX license to Neda Telecom, IO Global and Arianna Network Service in value of 520000$  for Each company.

 Minister of Communication & IT Amirzai Sangin Said: “to change Afghanistan into advanced technological and e-government Country implementing of advanced technologies is necessary and provides great facilities to the residents of the country. 3G And WIMAX technologies provide fast internet services for the people of Afghanistan”. Currently 20-30% subscribers enjoy Internet services, with issuance of this license fast internet service will expand across the country and it is plan 80% of population of Afghanistan will take benefit from internet services through 3G and WIMAX technologies in next 2 years.

The income of Ministry of Communications & IT to government thrasher  was 220 million US dollar in  1390  and for the nine Month of 1391 is 170 million US dollar at the end of question segment deputy Minister of Finance said.
