Joint meeting with ITU secretary general
Initially, the Minister of Communications Information Technology Shahzad Aryobee welcomed Mr. Zhao and provided detailed information about the general state of telecoms, promotion of electronic governance, the Casa Digital Project, strengthening information security, regulating activities and improving the capacity of this sector, the five-year strategy for fiber optic development and the Asan Khedmat services in the country.
He also mentioned the process of distributing electric identification cards, which the system was created by MCIT.
Furthermore, minister of MCIT talked regarding installation of the system for online passport and issuance licenses for domestic and foreign citizens, mobile payment program, implementation of GRP system in government offices, electronic documents of traffic system, Afghan Telecom program, extending Fiber Optic, promoting 4G service and converting the thermal energy into the solar power system.
Similarly, head of the ATRA Dr. Najibullah Azizi briefed on the implementation of the commitments of the World Telecommunication Union in relation to the telecommunications program, promoting 4G and 5G.
At the end, ITU secretary general praised the activities of the telecom sector leadership and visited various departments of ATRA and Afghan Telecom administrations.
