Transition to Digital Terrestrial TV in Afghanistan presumes one or more operators of infrastructure who delivers TV, audio and related content to Audience.
The Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA) of the Ministry of Communications and Information and Technology of Afghanistan (MCIT), hereinafter, “the Licensor”, hereby invites all interested parties to apply for the license to provide and operate a countrywide network for distribution of Digital Terrestrial TV services as described in this document, hereinafter the “Tender”.
Consortium of existing broadcasters, and other interested parties can apply under same condition as a single legal body. Declaration of participation in the Consortium shall be legally binding.
The Tender process shall be completed when one License is issued to the selected Applicant meeting the requirements of this Tender.
Regardless of the date of the award, commercial service shall begin at least at time specified in offer, including rollout timeline and quality of service.
