To sale out inactivated SIM Cards

In order to prevent sales of non-registered SIM Cards, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Ministry of Interior and other security agencies, and an agreement between security agencies and telecommunication companies was signed. Following the process, procedure and instruction of registration of SIM Cards were prepared and was sent to the related companies for their information. Said Eng. Khair Mohammad Faizi voice chairman of ATRA in a press conference in room of MCIT on Sunday 8/5/1391.

H, E. Faizi added: to pursue the performance of the signed agreement, last mechanism of registration was enacted, which banned sales of SIM Cards on streets, without registration.

Mr. Khair mohammad Faizi further said: according to meeting of leadership of MCIT and telecom companies it was decided the SIM Cards should be sold inactively afterward.
When the registration forms reaches to the data base of companies and it ensures the record of Cards and its users, the companies are allowed to activate the SIM Cards.

In order the decision to be performed the telecom companies are given time from 27/4/1391 to 27/7/1391(three months), and all previous non-registered SIM Cards should be recorded.

Mr. Faizi stressed: that any violation of the decision must be prosecuted.
