New achievement: Salaam telecom network connects to Real Time Data Management system
At the ceremony of connecting Salaam telecommunication Network to Real Time System (RTDMS) Mohammed Fahim Hashimi acting minister of Communications and Information Technology described the day as a historic day for the people of Afghanistan.
According to him, creating a mechanism for transparency in collecting 10% telecommunications service tax is one of the basic obligations of the national unity government to the citizens of the country that has now been implemented.
Minister Hashimi emphasized that by connecting Salaam Network to the Rail Time Data Management system other telecommunications companies would also be connected.
He said that we hope other companies will soon allow us to connect them to the real-time system as well.
According to him, telecommunications companies no longer have the right to hide monetary information, but the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology has nothing to do with citizens' conversations.
According to statistics, since 2015 more than 17 billion AFN revenues from telecommunication have been deposited to the government treasury.
Mr. Abbas Ebrahimzadah deputy commissioner of Wolesi Jirga's Telecommunications Commission, also said that he supports the Ministry of Communications' plans to make collecting telecommunications taxes more transparent.
He emphasized that other telecommunications companies should also be connected to the system and in the case of violation the law and rules should be referred to the prosecution.
