Cyber Security certificates were distributed to 180 government employees graduated from the Cyber Security Program launched by Ministry of Communications & IT during a ceremony which was held at Kabul Intercontinental Hotel on Sunday November 27, 2016.

At the beginning Mr. Aimal Marjan deputy IT minister of MCIT welcomed all participants and congratulated the participants for successfully completing the course. He said:  “Cyber Security is one of the important programs of the MCIT which prevents critical government data from threats and help us protect relevant data from internal and external attacks and hackings and you will be the people who will take care of it.”

He added: “So far, considering the importance of the issue, MCIT has taken serious measures, steps and proactive initiatives. In addition to conducting capacity building program in the sector, MCIT has also drafted Cyber Security laws, policies and plans that if once enforced, will help us better regulate the cyber space and the challenges.”

It is worth mentioning that this program is implemented by USAID financial support through Work Path Internet Company. To develop capacity in this sector, MCIT has also launched other several training programs in areas such as information technology, cyber security and e-government.
