MCIT: Serious monitoring to ensure transparency of 10% tax collection

Acting minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Fahim Hashimi assessed the process of collecting 10% telecom service tax on Wednesday, June, 2019.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology visited the Afghan Wireless Communications Company aiming to evaluate the telecommunications service fees collection process and urged the authorities of the Company to cooperate in the transparency of this section.

Minister Hashimi said that people have the right to know about the taxes they pay to the government and emphasized that the purpose of the assessment and oversight of the minister was to express the decisiveness of the leadership of the ministry to ensure transparency.

The Afghan Wireless Communications Company officials pledged closely to cooperate in the field of transparent collection of telecom fees levies and also expressed willingness to provide detailed information to the general public this regard.

Minister Mohammad Fahim Hashimi highlighted that the government was committed to establish a Real Time Data System (RTDMS).  

He said that in order to make the monitoring system more serious, telecommunications companies need to provide accurate information to the monitoring teams.
