MCIT-Equips Educational Institutes of Laghman Province with Computers and Internet Services
According to E- government strategy, Deputy Minister of IT, Ministry of Communications & IT (MCIT) Mr. Aimal Marjan opened and handed to operation technical laboratories in educational institutes of Laghman Province during his visit to Laghman province on Tuesday 24 February 2015.
Mr. Aimal Marjan and his companion delegation attended the meeting which was held on this occasion.
The Deputy Minister made a speech in the meeting and expressed his satisfaction opening laboratories and said: MCIT has always tried to offer modern and new information technology services to the people of Afghanistan.
He said that: the use of information technology in all areas of life such as health, education, higher education, economy, security, good governance, etc. is of a great value. He continued that information technology provides vast opportunities to teachers and students to achieve abilities in their teaching and learning areas and operate new and modern methods of learning. Thus using information technology bring transparency, quality, speed in all areas of governance and social life.
For these purpose couple years ago we signed a memorandum of understanding with ministries of Education and Higher Education and our cooperation has started since then, Said Aimal Marjan.
He mentioned that we are continuing cooperation with the ministry of Public Health and MCIT wants the hospitals of our country be connected with Optical Fiber, so that the new medical opportunities to be provided.
Then Dr. Homayoun Jailani deputy minister, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), expressing his happiness and called the information technology as a strategic weapon. He added using the information technology we will put our all teaching curriculums in software and distribute it to schools across the country with high quality.
He said that: by connecting schools with Optical Fiber every class and student will have access to critical information regarding materials and lessons.
He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of MCIT and said that MCIT’s unwearyingly efforts turned Afghanistan regional rival.
After that Mr. Fazlullah Mojadadi governor of Laghman Province also mentioned in his speech: that today’s era is the era of computer and internet and thanked MCIT for its interest providing communication and IT services to Laghman province.
After that head of Laghman University and the ICT director of Laghman province Mr. Humayoun Shams also spoke around the importance of information technology and appreciated endeavors of MCIT.
Finally it should be noted at this stage Laghman University with four technical schools equipped with the Computer labs that cost 6.1 million Afs and founded by Telecommunications Development Found (TDF).
