11 Provinces get digital telephone lines.
On Saturday 10th December, 2005 MoC inaugurated and facilitated digital telephone lines to 11 provinces, in a session made by the Ministry of Communications' post hall H E .Eng.A.Sangin Minister of Communications.

 H.E.Ambassador of India in Afghanistan Mr. Rakesh Sood, Deputy Minister in administration of Finance Mr.Samadi, Director of Afghanistan International Chambers of Commerce(AICC) Mr.Azrakh Hafizi, Chairman and Managing Director of TCIL Mr. Gaiha Deputy Ministers of Communications and other senior official of MoC including officials of Afghan Telecom participated in the gathering.
In the beginning , H. E. Minister of Communications Eng. A. Sangin addressed the gathering and praised the role of Govt of India in the area of reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afghanistan especially in the Telecommunications. He added that the activation of digital telephone lines in 11 provinces in Parwan, Laghman, Kunar, Paktika, Farah, Faryab, Bamyan, Badghis, Nimroz, Zabul, and Ghazni that were implemented by an Indian Governmental Company and was completely funded by the government of India.

H.E. Minister of Communications also expressed that totally there are 35000 digital telephone lines in the said provinces which cost ten million dollars that was assisted by the government of India.
Following H. E. Minister of Communications, H. E. Ambassador of India in Afghanistan Mr.Rakesh Sood addressed the session and stated that the Government of India has donated more than 600 million dollars to Afghanistan so for which reflects a huge and brilliant role of Indian in the reconstruction of Afghanistan especially in the area of Communications which funded the digital telephone lines to eleven provinces of Afghanistan that were implemented by an Indian governmental company (TCIL).
H.E.indian Ambassador pledged more cooperation and fund to the Government of Afghanistan.

During the session Director of Afghanistan International chamber of Commerce Mr. Azrakhsh Hafizi addressed the assembly and praised the Ministry of Communications in facilitating of digital telephone lines, Fax and internet for the people of Afghanistan.

Finally, the chairman and managing director of TCIL Company Mr.G.D.Gaiha who has traveled to Afghanistan to attend this session mentioned that TCIL has helped Ministry of Communications in installing and activation of digital telephone switches in eleven provinces of Afghanistan and acknowledged Ministry of Communications that has helped TCIL to take part in the rehabilitation of Afghanistan.

 

H.E.Eng.A.Sangin and H. E. Rakes Sood, Mr.Samadi and Mr.Azrakh Hafizi formally inaugurated District Network Connection through video conference by talking to governors of their provinces and then these high ranking officials visited Afghan Telecom HUB to be familiar with the Technical equipments of this Project.
