Deputy Minister, Administration
Engineer. Abdul Wakil

 

Deputy Minister Administration Eng. Abdul Wakil son of Shir Gul was born Now Abad area of Bagrami district Kabul Province in 1949.

 

He admitted to Bagrami Primary School in 1957-1963 and studied Middle School in German Technical in Kabul in 1993-1966.

 

Eng. Wakil graduated from Telecommunications Training Center and studied in Lythan St. Annes College in UK and earned bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications from Bolton University of United Kingdom in 1979-1982.

 

Following returning to Afghanistan, Eng. Wakil was appointed as a lecturer in Telecom Training Center (TTC) in 1969 and meanwhile served as Dean of the TTC from 1982 to1990.
Deputy Minister Wakil joined United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and served there from 1975 to 2008 in different posts in Islamabad-Pakistan and Afghanistan.
For the second time in 2005 he was again appointed by Minister Sangin as Dean of the Institute of Communications and Information Technology (ICTI) for one year.

 

In addition to Pashto, he understands Dari, English and Urdu languages very well. Furthermore, he has worked in Administration/Financial Management as well as Human Resources.

 

Moreover, He has attended a number of local and International seminars and Workshops in Pakistan, Thailand, Egypt, Swiss, Germany, Malaysia, Turkey and Japan for participating Conference and seminars.

 

Based on his best performances and administration/Financial background, he was appointed by the decree of H. E. Hamid Karzai President of Afghanistan as Deputy Minister Administration of Ministry of Communications and IT at the beginning of the solar calendar year 1387.
